Auction result misses estimated price range
In November this year a collector was able to acquire the work A Stream and Hills 20 x 24 in. framed 27 x 31 in. by William Clapp for USD 1,024.00 (€ 938.76). This price was achieved in the auction California and Western Art Online at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,400.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by William Clapp have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Barn in August last year with an auction result of USD 5,737.50 (€ 5,700.45).

Im November diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Stream and Hills 20 x 24 in. framed 27 x 31 in. von William Clapp für USD 1.024,00 (€ 938,76) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion California and Western Art Online bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.400,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Clapp auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Barn im August letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.737,50 (€ 5.700,45).
