Auction result misses estimated price range
In March last year a collector was able to acquire the work View of a castle ruin on the Rhine by William Callow for GBP 956.25 (€ 1,133.74). This price was achieved in the auction British and European Art at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Callow achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dogana, Venice, Sunrise in December 2015 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 59,410.40).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit View of a castle ruin on the Rhine von William Callow für GBP 956,25 (€ 1.133,74) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and European Art bei Bonhams in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Callow erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Dogana, Venice, Sunrise im Dezember 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 59.410,40).
