Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View of Bellagio, Lake Como, Italy by William Callow was auctioned at Christies in London in July this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,292.00 (€ 6,174.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Callow have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Dogana, Venice, Sunrise in December 2015 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 59,410.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit View of Bellagio, Lake Como, Italy von William Callow kam im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.292,00 (€ 6.174,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Callow auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Dogana, Venice, Sunrise im Dezember 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 59.410,40).
