Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2007 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations, which included the work Running out on the tide by William Callcott Knell. The price achieved of GBP 420.00 (€ 623.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Callcott Knell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Warships approaching the anchorage in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 33,600.00 (€ 25,850.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations durch, in der auch die Arbeit Running out on the tide von William Callcott Knell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 420,00 (€ 623,80) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Callcott Knell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Warships approaching the anchorage im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 33.600,00 (€ 25.850,13).
