Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Early Morning in the Medway'; and 'Evening, French Fishing Boat Bringing Too, in the Downs', a pair by William Callcott Knell was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October 2021. The price achieved of GBP 1,785.00 (€ 2,114.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Callcott Knell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Warships approaching the anchorage in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 33,600.00 (€ 25,850.13).
