Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'A Summers Evening, River Medway' by William Callcott Knell was sold in the The Marine Sale auction at Bonhams in London in November 2020. The price achieved of GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,138.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Callcott Knell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Warships approaching the anchorage in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 33,600.00 (€ 25,850.13).
