In September 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Yeats: The Family Collection, which included the work Illustrations To Dante'S Divine Comedy (Bindman 647-653) by William Blake. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,017.69), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Blake achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Gambols Of Ghosts According With Their Affections Previous To The Final Judgement in January 2013 with an auction result of USD 722,500.00 (€ 531,875.74).

Im September 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Yeats: The Family Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Illustrations To Dante'S Divine Comedy (Bindman 647-653) von William Blake zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.017,69) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Blake erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Gambols Of Ghosts According With Their Affections Previous To The Final Judgement im Januar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 722.500,00 (€ 531.875,74).
