the complete set of 21 engravings, the title and the publication announcement, 1823-5, on India appliqué, very fine, sparkling impressions, with very good contrasts, from the First Edition edition of about 150, with the word ‘proof’ (there was also a slightly later edition with the word ‘proof’ removed), published by the artist and J. Linnell, London, 1825, with wide margins, probably the full sheets, some pale foxing in the margins, all mounted, within a modern beige, cloth-covered box

In December 2014 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Prints, which included the work Illustrations Of The Book Of Job (Keynes 55; Binyon 105-126; Bentley 421A; Bindman 625-46) by William Blake. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 62,500.00 (€ 80,458.23), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by William Blake have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Gambols Of Ghosts According With Their Affections Previous To The Final Judgement in January 2013 with an auction result of USD 722,500.00 (€ 531,875.74).

Im Dezember 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Illustrations Of The Book Of Job (Keynes 55; Binyon 105-126; Bentley 421A; Bindman 625-46) von William Blake zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 80.458,23) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Blake auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Gambols Of Ghosts According With Their Affections Previous To The Final Judgement im Januar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 722.500,00 (€ 531.875,74).
