Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Maritime Art Including Fine Paintings, Nautical Antiques, Scrimshaw And Ship Models, which included the work Endeavour and Ranger racing in the 1937 Cup Trials by William Bishop. The price achieved of USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,526.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Bishop have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Battle of Trafalgar, 21st October, 1805 - H.M.S. Victory's starboard side under fire from Rédoubtable in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 11,950.00 (€ 17,929.40).

Im Januar 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Maritime Art Including Fine Paintings, Nautical Antiques, Scrimshaw And Ship Models durch, in der auch die Arbeit Endeavour and Ranger racing in the 1937 Cup Trials von William Bishop zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.750,00 (€ 2.526,78) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Bishop auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Battle of Trafalgar, 21st October, 1805 - H.M.S.
