Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Flower Girl by William Baxter Collier Fyfe was sold in the Scottish and Sporting Pictures auction at Sothebys in London in August 2007. The price achieved of GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,095.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Baxter Collier Fyfe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The raid of Ruthven, an incident in the life of James VI of Scotland 'On the 23rd of August, 1852, the Earl of Gowrie invited the King to his castle of Ruthven, under the pretext of hunting.
