Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction British & Irish Art, which included the work Medical Attention by William Banks Fortescue. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,449.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Banks Fortescue - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Putting In Broccoli Plants, Cornwall, which sold at auction in February 2019 for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,330.70).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.449,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden.
