This artwork by William Alister Macdonald achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2006. In the British and Continental Watercolours auction, the work Lupton'S Tower From The Cloisters, Eton College sold for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,634.99) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Alister Macdonald - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Views of the Island of Tahiti, which sold at auction in April 2005 for GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,104.70).

In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours wurde die Arbeit Lupton'S Tower From The Cloisters, Eton College für GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.634,99) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Alister Macdonald mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Views of the Island of Tahiti beobachtet, die im April 2005 für GBP 4.800,00 (€ 7.104,70) versteigert wurde.
