It achieved a price of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 36,071.62), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 67%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Willem van Leen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A fine still life of flowers in a stone vase sculpted with amorini on a stone ledge including a peony, anemonies, old roses, auriculae, chrysanthemums, daisies, larkspur and acanthus leaves, two goldfinches in a bird's nest sold at auction in May 2004 with the realized price of GBP 26,290.00 (€ 39,444.68).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 36.071,62) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 67%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Willem van Leen; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit A fine still life of flowers in a stone vase sculpted with amorini on a stone ledge including a peony, anemonies, old roses, auriculae, chrysanthemums, daisies, larkspur and acanthus leaves, two goldfinches in a bird's nest im Mai 2004 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 26.290,00 (€ 39.444,68).
