Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Activity on the Rhine by Willem Troost was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in January 2008. The price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 837.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Troost achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The garden facade of the Old Palace of the Governor-General at Buitenzorg (Bogor) before the earthquake of 1834, viewed from the far side of the ornamental lake in the botanic gardens in October 2002 with an auction result of HKD 776,750.00 (€ 100,778.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Activity on the Rhine von Willem Troost wurde im Januar 2008 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 837,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Troost erzielen.
