Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A River Landscape With Small Vessels By A Fortification by Willem Troost was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2014. The price achieved of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,824.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Willem Troost have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The garden facade of the Old Palace of the Governor-General at Buitenzorg (Bogor) before the earthquake of 1834, viewed from the far side of the ornamental lake in the botanic gardens in October 2002 with an auction result of HKD 776,750.00 (€ 100,778.62).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 11.824,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden.
