Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Willem Romeyn could be acquired at Sothebys in London in March 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Quality in Detail. The Juli and Andrew Wieg Collection auction, the work Two bullocks with a sheep and a goat changed hands for GBP 2,772.00 (€ 3,256.39) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willem Romeyn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shepherds Tending A Herd Of Sheep And Cattle, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,911.04).
