Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and Early British Paintings, which included the work A Courtyard Scene With Washerwomen by Willem Kalf. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,647.85), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Kalf achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Chafing Dish, Two Pilgrims' Canteens, A Silver-Gilt Ewer, A Plate And Other Tableware On A Partially Draped Table in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 2,775,000.00 (€ 2,489,012.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and Early British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Courtyard Scene With Washerwomen von Willem Kalf zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 7.647,85) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Kalf erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Chafing Dish, Two Pilgrims' Canteens, A Silver-Gilt Ewer, A Plate And Other Tableware On A Partially Draped Table im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.775.000,00 (€ 2.489.012,47).
