Admittedly, works by Willem Weissenbruch have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Moored shrimp-fishing vessels in the estuary of the 'Oude Rijn', Katwijk aan Zee in April 2001 with an auction result of NLG 19,975.00 (€ 9,168.15).

Die Arbeit A sunny afternoon with a sailing boat on a canal von Willem Weissenbruch wurde im September 2001 in der Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 2.232,50 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 40 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem Weissenbruch auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Moored shrimp-fishing vessels in the estuary of the 'Oude Rijn', Katwijk aan Zee im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 19.975,00 (€ 9.168,15).
