Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Christies in New York held the auction Made in Holland: Celebrating 50 Years of Christie’s Amsterdam, which included this untitled work by Willem Hussem. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 8,820.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Willem Hussem have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dutch Cirkel Met Verticalen in June 2008 with an auction result of EUR 35,550.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Made in Holland: Celebrating 50 Years of Christie’s Amsterdam durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Willem Hussem zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 8.820,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem Hussem auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dutch Cirkel Met Verticalen im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 35.550,00.
