In September 2011 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now including Topographical Observations, which included the work Portrait of the artist by Willem de Zwart. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,875.00 56% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem de Zwart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Marietje in het gras: the daughter of the artist with a straw head in June 2017 with an auction result of EUR 56,250.00.

Im September 2011 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Nineteen to Now including Topographical Observations durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of the artist von Willem de Zwart zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.875,00 und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem de Zwart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Marietje in het gras: the daughter of the artist with a straw head im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 56.250,00.
