Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of EUR 15,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willem de Zwart - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Marietje in het gras: the daughter of the artist with a straw head, which sold at auction in June 2017 for EUR 56,250.00.
