Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seated Woman by Willem de Kooning was sold in the 20th Century Evening Sale auction at Christies in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 8,155,000.00 (€ 7,599,478.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000,000.00 – 10,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Willem de Kooning have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled XXV in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 66,327,500.00 (€ 62,703,252.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Seated Woman von Willem de Kooning wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century Evening Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.155.000,00 (€ 7.599.478,15) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000.000,00 – 10.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem de Kooning auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled XXV im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 66.327.500,00 (€ 62.703.252,03).
