Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Artist'S Son, Henri Baudouin, Playing On A Rug by Willem de Famars Testas was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2001. The price achieved of NLG 2,585.00 (€ 1,242.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as NLG 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem de Famars Testas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch the Well And Sycamore In Ezbekieh Square, Cairo in May 2011 with an auction result of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,864.41).
