This artwork by Willem Bastiaan Tholen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in March 2012. In the Nineteen to Now auction, the work A moored barge sold for EUR 6,250.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Bastiaan Tholen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Billiards Player in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 287,500.00 (€ 315,655.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Willem Bastiaan Tholen erzielte im März 2012 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Nineteen to Now wurde die Arbeit A moored barge für EUR 6.250,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Bastiaan Tholen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Billiards Player im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 287.500,00 (€ 315.655,88).
