This artwork by Will Cotton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2014. In the Post-War and Contemporary Afternoon Session auction, the work Ribbon Candy Portrait sold for USD 125,000.00 (€ 91,642.23) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Will Cotton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Taffy Forest, which sold at auction in September 2012 for USD 272,500.00 (€ 211,963.29).

Für andere Arbeiten von Will Cotton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Taffy Forest beobachtet, die im September 2012 für USD 272.500,00 (€ 211.963,29) versteigert wurde.
