It achieved a price of USD 37,575.00 (€ 33,857.45), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Admittedly, works by Werner Rohde have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work „Dunkle Figur“. in June 2015 with an auction result of EUR 187,500.00.

Die Arbeit Self-Portrait with Mask von Werner Rohde kam im Mai 2020 bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 37.575,00 (€ 33.857,45) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Werner Rohde auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit „Dunkle Figur“. im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 187.500,00.
