Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Night in Holland by Werner Drewes was sold in the Living With Art auction at Christies in New York in July 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,275.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Werner Drewes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Expectation of New Events in November last year with an auction result of USD 75,975.00 (€ 73,597.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Night in Holland von Werner Drewes wurde im Juli 2016 in der Auktion Living With Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.275,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Werner Drewes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Expectation of New Events im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.975,00 (€ 73.597,79).
