Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2019 POLY held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy II, which included the work Calligraphy by Weng Tonghe. It changed hands for a price of HKD 141,600.00 (€ 16,184.67) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Weng Tonghe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script in November 2017 with an auction result of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 80,748.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2019 führte POLY die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy von Weng Tonghe zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 141.600,00 (€ 16.184,67) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Weng Tonghe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 80.748,87).
