Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Calligraphy in Xingshu by Weng Tonghe was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2021. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 75,600.00 (€ 8,409.45). Admittedly, works by Weng Tonghe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script in November 2017 with an auction result of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 80,748.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy in Xingshu von Weng Tonghe kam im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 70.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 75.600,00 (€ 8.409,45) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Weng Tonghe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 80.748,87).
