The work Running Script Calligraphy by Weng Fanggang was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. The auction ended at the price of HKD 50,000.00 (€ 5,709.33), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Weng Fanggang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Diamond Sutra In Regular Script in March 2017 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 175,266.40).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Running Script Calligraphy von Weng Fanggang wurde im Mai 2017 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 50.000,00 (€ 5.709,33) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Weng Fanggang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Diamond Sutra In Regular Script im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 175.266,40).
