Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Weng Fanggang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in June this year. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy in Standard Script sold for HKD 214,200.00 (€ 25,029.23) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Weng Fanggang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Diamond Sutra In Regular Script in March 2017 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 175,266.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Weng Fanggang erzielte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy in Standard Script für HKD 214.200,00 (€ 25.029,23) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Weng Fanggang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Diamond Sutra In Regular Script im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 175.266,40).
