In February this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Dawn of Spring – Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Guanyin by Wen Yongchen. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 52,920.00 (€ 6,359.19), 32% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wen Yongchen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Hundred Boys, which sold at auction in March 2019 for USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,265.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Dawn of Spring – Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Guanyin von Wen Yongchen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 52.920,00 (€ 6.359,19) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Wen Yongchen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Hundred Boys beobachtet, die im März 2019 für USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.265,76) versteigert wurde.
