This artwork by Wei Zhihuang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2015. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Bamboo And Rock sold for HKD 1,120,000.00 (€ 136,792.27) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00. This high result makes Bamboo And Rock the most expensive artwork by Wei Zhihuang that we have observed at auctions so far.
