In December 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Armenian coastal Landscape by Wartan Makhokian. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 4,073.86) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wartan Makhokian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sotrmy Seas in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 18,231.99).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Armenian coastal Landscape von Wartan Makhokian zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 4.073,86) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wartan Makhokian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sotrmy Seas im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.600,00 (€ 18.231,99).
