This artwork by Wang Zhideng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2014. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Letters sold for USD 68,750.00 (€ 54,442.51) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Zhideng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Correspondences, which sold at auction in May 2021 for HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 132,134.66).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Zhideng erzielte im September 2014 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Letters für USD 68.750,00 (€ 54.442,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Zhideng mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Correspondences beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für HKD 1.250.000,00 (€ 132.134,66) versteigert wurde.
