Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Correspondence by Wang Zhideng was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in July 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 14,340.00 (€ 1,493.41). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Zhideng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Correspondences in May 2021 with an auction result of HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 132,134.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Correspondence von Wang Zhideng im Juli 2003 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 14.340,00 (€ 1.493,41) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Zhideng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Correspondences im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.250.000,00 (€ 132.134,66).
