The work Landscape Of Yushan by Wang Yuanqi was worth USD 2,110,000.00 (€ 1,877,558.28) to a buyer in September 2016. This price was achieved in the auction The Roy and Marilyn Papp Collection of Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 550,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Yuanqi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape Inspired by Huang Gongwang, which sold at auction in November 2017 for HKD 48,475,000.00 (€ 5,219,068.33).
