This artwork by Wang Yuanqi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Classical Landscape sold for HKD 6,780,000.00 (€ 774,184.76) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 3,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wang Yuanqi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape Inspired by Huang Gongwang in November 2017 with an auction result of HKD 48,475,000.00 (€ 5,219,068.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Yuanqi erzielte im Mai 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Classical Landscape für HKD 6.780.000,00 (€ 774.184,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 3.000.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Yuanqi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape Inspired by Huang Gongwang im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 48.475.000,00 (€ 5.219.068,33).
