The work Cursive Script After Wang Xizhi by Wang Wenzhi was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 176,400.00 (€ 19,537.74), 47% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Wenzhi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy After Masters in April this year with an auction result of HKD 516,000.00 (€ 526,936.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 47 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Cursive Script After Wang Xizhi von Wang Wenzhi wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 176.400,00 (€ 19.537,74) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Wenzhi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy After Masters im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 516.000,00 (€ 526.936,96).
