Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Happy Life by Wang Wenjiang was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 75,000.00 (€ 7,341.66). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Wenjiang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Children At The River, which sold at auction in April 2012 for HKD 275,000.00 (€ 26,795.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Happy Life von Wang Wenjiang im April 2013 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 75.000,00 (€ 7.341,66) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Wenjiang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Children At The River beobachtet, die im April 2012 für HKD 275.000,00 (€ 26.795,30) versteigert wurde.
