Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Farmers by Wang Wenjiang was sold in the 20th Century Chinese Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 90,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 102,500.00 (€ 10,204.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Wenjiang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Children At The River, which sold at auction in April 2012 for HKD 275,000.00 (€ 26,795.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Farmers von Wang Wenjiang wurde im Oktober 2012 in der Auktion 20th Century Chinese Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 90.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 102.500,00 (€ 10.204,12) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Wenjiang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Children At The River beobachtet, die im April 2012 für HKD 275.000,00 (€ 26.795,30) versteigert wurde.
