This price was achieved in the auction Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas at China Guardian in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 15,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Wang Shuhui; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Lady Under The Willow Tree sold at auction in October 2015 with the realized price of HKD 137,500.00 (€ 16,063.67).
