Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Red Bamboo And Dragonfly by Wang Mingming was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in April this year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 8,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 36,000.00 (€ 36,763.04). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Mingming achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Story Of Lanting in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 10,902,500.00 (€ 1,199,948.92).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Red Bamboo And Dragonfly von Wang Mingming im April diesen Jahres bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 8.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 36.000,00 (€ 36.763,04) mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Mingming erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Story Of Lanting im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 10.902.500,00 (€ 1.199.948,92).
