Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
When the work Calligraphy in Running Script by Wang Kaiyun was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2018, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 10,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at HKD 50,000.00 (€ 5,643.38). Admittedly, works by Wang Kaiyun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poem In Xingshu in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 275,000.00 (€ 32,361.80).
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script von Wang Kaiyun im November 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 10.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 50.000,00 (€ 5.643,38) mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Kaiyun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poem In Xingshu im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 275.000,00 (€ 32.361,80).
