Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Calligraphy by Wang Jiqian was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in March last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 892.50 (€ 804.56). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Jiqian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape No. 472 in April 2017 with an auction result of HKD 2,980,000.00 (€ 351,746.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy von Wang Jiqian im März letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 892,50 (€ 804,56) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Jiqian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landscape No. 472 im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.980.000,00 (€ 351.746,67).
