Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Wang Geyi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in August 2021. In the Inkspiration: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Orchid by the Cliff sold for HKD 17,640.00 (€ 1,920.97) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Geyi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flower in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 401,200.00 (€ 48,888.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Geyi erzielte im August 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Inkspiration: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Orchid by the Cliff für HKD 17.640,00 (€ 1.920,97) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Geyi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flower im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 401.200,00 (€ 48.888,90).
