Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 POLY in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Caimito by Wang Geyi. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 24,000.00 (€ 2,668.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Geyi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flower in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 401,200.00 (€ 48,888.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte POLY in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Caimito von Wang Geyi zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 24.000,00 (€ 2.668,56) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Geyi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flower im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 401.200,00 (€ 48.888,90).
