This artwork by Wang Gai achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Thatched Cottage in the Mountains sold for HKD 604,800.00 (€ 71,802.74) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Gai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Estate By The City Of Qi in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,090,000.00 (€ 969,923.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Gai erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Thatched Cottage in the Mountains für HKD 604.800,00 (€ 71.802,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 300.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Gai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Estate By The City Of Qi im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.090.000,00 (€ 969.923,47).
