In October 2004 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY, which included the work Gazing At A Waterfall by Wang Gai. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 203,150.00 (€ 20,464.82), 69% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Gai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Estate By The City Of Qi in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,090,000.00 (€ 969,923.47).

Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gazing At A Waterfall von Wang Gai zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 203.150,00 (€ 20.464,82) und damit 69% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Gai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Estate By The City Of Qi im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.090.000,00 (€ 969.923,47).
