Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Couplet In Running Script by Wang Fang was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,250.00 (€ 3,810.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Fang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape After Wang Jian, which sold at auction in March 2018 for USD 10,625.00 (€ 8,624.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Couplet In Running Script von Wang Fang wurde im März 2014 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.250,00 (€ 3.810,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Fang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape After Wang Jian beobachtet, die im März 2018 für USD 10.625,00 (€ 8.624,19) versteigert wurde.
